We happen to go to the castle on one of the hottest days of the year! You must travel up the flights of stairs, with no AC but when you get to the top, its breath taking! It's not something Id do more than once, but I am glad we did it.

The Castle grounds are full of old monuments and the graves of Japanese heroes and Royalty. It has beautiful gardens and the restoration effort was done quite well. Visitors are allowed to climb to the highest part of the castle where you have an unimpeded 360 degree view of the area, you can almost see all the way to Korea!...
