If you have half a day in this area, we would highly recommend hiring Tony as a guide for a Burren walk. We booked him via his Internet site and were given the option of a private walk or having him advertise for others at a lower price for us if anyone else joined. His knowledge and sincere appreciation for... More

Ireland plan. #1 Buy "The Burren and The Aran Islands - A Walking Guide" by Tony Kirby. #2 read it. #3 Contact Tony and schedule a walk, a long one if you can. #4 Take the walk with Tony and learn more about Ireland and the unique magic of The Burren than you ever could on your own. Tony is... More

We had a wonderful experience walking in the Burren with Tony Kirby. There is nothing as wonderful as experiencing a place that is so special and unique with someone who is so knowledgeable and passionate. A great experience.

We had the pleasure to go for a walk with Tony through the Burren . We had a great time and our 49 French students were delighted to see breathtaking landscapes and really enjoyed listening to silence :- ) and to Tony's amazing explanations -in spite of the snow!!- Thanks very much Tony for this wonderful walk and for your... My group hired Tony for a walk through The Burren. He showed us landscape and man made sites we would have walked right by and not even known we had missed. I have a much greater appreciation for the fragile ecological balance we live in after this walk. I hope to go back sometime in the spring to see the... More

My daughter and I met Tony after flying all night from the States and driving from Dublin. Our exhaustion was overcome by Tony's personalty, enthusiasm, passion and knowledge of the area. The scenery was beautiful and we both learned from Tony not only the geological history of the area but how it fits in with Irish history. Tony is very... More

Tony's walks are most enjoyable. His knowledge and passion for the Burren shine through. This was my second walk with Tony and I would highly recommend him to anyone who wishes to discover the (often unhidden treasures of the) beautiful Burren. Tony's friendliness and his ability to recite a beautiful piece of poetry in a magical setting make his walks... More

2013-01-02 Next on our daily schedule is the very popular tour around The Heart of Burren by the very knowledgable and friendly guide Mr Tony Kirby from Limerick. Mr Kirby moved nearby with his wife 10 years ago and now lives there with their two young daughters. A long the walk through the majestic Limestone rock providing us with his... More

It would not be hyperbole to say that Tony Kirby's Heart of the Burren Walks encompasses the best that Ireland has to offer. Natural beauty, poetry and friendly people. My wife and I did The Burren Walk and The Rathbourney Valley walk on 2 separate days. Of our almost 2 weeks in Ireland, they were some of our most memorable... More

My 10 year old son and I had the great privilege of booking a walking tour with Tony--it was certainly a highlight of our visit to Clare, if not indeed Ireland. Tony's wealth of knowledge and utter passion for every aspect of the Burren could not be contained. The Burren...truly magical and Tony is one of its true gems.
