I am not sure why this thing is getting so much hype. It is newly built and all and is the highest structure in the world I suppose. There's not much you can do here except look at it. Soon you'll be able to take a very expensive ride up to the observation deck. More

Modern, elegant, huge and tall. Surrounded by old, small, plain establishments and shops. Modern vs Old. But the people are nice and kind. Nice place to visit. More

Beautiful to see, especially lit up! (For a few weeks, they are alternating the light up every night. There are 2 versions, blue and purple) Couldn't get in as they were not open during my recent trip to Tokyo. I heard there is going to be a restaurant, but booking is already full for months ahead. We first went to Asakusa to see the whole tower, then got off the train at skytree station at the foot of tokyo sky tree. It is not open to public yet but you can see it close. More

Visited before it was finished and is it ever impressive. Once open would highly recommend. The views from the top will be spectacular. More

As Tokyo Sky Tree just opened in early 2012, it is the Tokyo flavour of the month, and will be overwhelmed with visitors at least through the summer of 2012. If you have the option of waiting a bit longer, after the newness has worn off, you will have a much more pleasant time. More

But I've watched it go up little by little. It dwarfs Tokyo Tower. It's going to carry HD and cell traffic as well as being a tourist site and place to look down on the city. Nearby is the Sosenji Shrine with its rows of tourist shops and gorgeous grounds. Visit the old and new at the same time. Also... More

I have been obsessed with this new wonder of the world, since I first saw the design plans! I'm not always impressed with the modern architecture of Japan but they really hit the mark with this magnificent creation! It hovers over Tokyo like giant Hattori Hanzō Sword and I can't wait to be standing on the top observatory AND the... More

No need to go here as it can be seen from many places. As of writing, the tower is not open to visitors but expect a 2 hour waiting period when it is. Great photos can be taken of Sky Tree from Asakusa. More

while it wont be done until april next year, the tower is complete and still worth the trip to see such a mammoth tower from the bottom. i would recommend walking over the bridge from asakusa, only 10-15 mins or so. More
