Beautiful archaeological sight, amazing pyramids, make sure you have a good guide in order to appreciate it and stay for the 'flying men' show, well worth the 30 pesos to watch them too. The charge for the flying men show is additional to the entry fee to the pyramids. More

The ruins can be seen in less than two hours. However the views warrent a longer visit. The museum is very good, and cool. There is a restaurant inside the complex, but the restaurants closer to the parking area have better value and choice. There are no end to the small gift shops and they will discount, but I found... El Tajin ("thunder" or in Totonaca language) is an ancient ceremonial site in Veracruz, near Papantla, made of 168 building, 41 of which have been restored and can be visited. It flourished from 600 to 1200 C.E. and its architectural features are unique, for example the Pyramid of the Niches. Unfortunately, because of the very comercial and short sighted perspective... The El Tajin ruins are spectacular, worth the visit and all the praise accumulated on this website. My Lady and I stayed in Veracruz for a long weekend and made this day trip happen as follows: The Veracruz central bus station (la central de autobuses) is located at the main thorough fare Salvador Diaz Miron, opposite the Auditorio Benito Juarez,... It's getting more and more commerical each year but it is still a great visit. Excavation continues, as with all sites in Mexico so from year to year it is interesting to see new exposers from a time lost in time. More

I loved the site .... the Pyramid of the Niches is so spectacular. We didn't have a guide, but were able to get a really good understanding of the site by doing research prior to the visit, and also by reading the placards near each of the buildings. One thing that amazed me was how stiflingly hot it was there.... More

Very impressive site, and very conducive to spending the whole day wandering and exploring. Guides are a little pricey, but the cost per person goes down with more people sharing it, and if it's your first time, it is well worth it. Pretty good bathrooms, but they're a bit of a distance from the best parts of the site, so... More

Last winter I drove my car from van from Seattle to the border of Guatemala in Chiapus. On the way I saw an ad in a New Yorker magazine depicting The Pyramid of the Niches at El Tajín , and I realized I could easily visit it. Because I spoke no Spanish at the time, a Mexican friend offered to... More

I've been to visit more than 100 ancient Meso-American ruins in the past and was completely blown away by what I saw at El Tajin. The site has a tremendous amount of structures and the architecture at the site is phenomenal. After visiting the site for my first time earlier this year, I was disappointed in my self for having...
