We walk these carriage roads every year and never tire of them. They are well maintained and are easy to walk. Spend some time exploring the island on these roads. It is well worth it.

We loved the wonderful views and this amazing feature of the park. We took a bike ride which about killed us. We were not prepared for the difficult uphill climbs, but we still enjoyed the trip. The carriage trails are a great place to take an easy walk in Acadia. No hiking, no climbing, just nice views and a peaceful stroll...just be care of horse business.

Take your time to enjoy the quiet nature around you. Well suited for strollers, bicycles, or just a quiet walk in the woods. Bring your camera.

We did a carriage tour to explore the roads. We had so much fun! The roads are beautiful & very well maintained. We actually went on a very foggy day and I felt like that made it even more beautiful. Beautiful scenic road traverses through varied natural settings not accessible by car. Gravelly path enhances the experience. Allow times for quiet stops, look at nature from a frog or birdseye view. Allow at least half a day for a leisurely biking, more during crowded days.

The carriage roads are well marked and well maintained. We biked around Eagle Lake and really enjoyed it.

Wish we could have seen more of the roads. Took a carriage tour which gave a good info on history and area. I think a bike might be a good way to go as there are 50+ miles of roads.
