This hike is relatively gentle, goes through forest and into the crater. It took me about an hour and a half. I did a couple hikes in the Park and this was my favorite.

About 3.5 miles around, this hike is amazing. It's not difficult: one steep decent (maybe 300 ft) and one steep climb back up. It's well worth it. Walking on a not so old lava lake in a crater is an unique experience. Bring sunscreen, long pants and lots of water and enjoy this unique experience ! You do not need to be an athlete to do this.
