A show of respect for All Lost Seamen. It is very important to the Islanders and so it should be. When the light fades and the sun sets the Anchor is an Imposing symbol for all of humanity. Respect.

i realize there is local reverence for this monument, but to most travelers, it serves as more of a landmark telling you which way to turn to head for baby beach or rogers beach. the vista from the point above is breathtaking. if you don't stop for the anchor itself, at least appreciate the view and the wild donkeys and...

Serves as a memory for all of the seamen. It's a picture spot and that's about it. If you are on your way to Baby Beach, you can't miss it. Nothing to see but this so it's a 1-2-3 gig if you even want to stop to take a picture.
It's nice to see that there is a Anchor in Memory of all Seaman. It is a catching anchor near to the sea and it can really get to you.

Out in the middle of nowhere this huge anchor dedicated to lost seaman. Very fitting to be positioned on the rugged north coast surf.

The anchor was dredged from the seabed from one of the many tankers that used...

Nice view. It is a great tribute to the Seamen. The day we were there a donkey was standing in front of the anchor almost like he was posing. We couldn't resist taking a picture of him.
It was an interesting photo op, but what can you say - it is an anchor. The best part is that it is a tribute in honor of all seamen. And you have to see it if going to/from Baby Beach. Stop and take a picture.
