This is a good place for handcrafts such as pottery, baskets and local paintings. I rated it a 3 because too many store fronts are empty. Hopefully some new stores will open soon to join the rest.

We set off after four days of meetings to get some original things to take home . We went fully local and took the bus from the main road. We got there and wondered, 'where is the craft''. My position is get to the airport early and look for the kiosk once you check in there is more to get...

We were looking for a particular item and made a special trip. They did not stock it but the Pelican Cafe owner, Lynette, rang and found a number, sorted us out and offered to take us to our next destination - all without being asked and at no charge. She really could not have dne any more for us. no...

We visit the centre each time we come and have noticed that many of the shops are closing down. One visit is sure to entertain you, that is Gloria in her basket shop. Talk to her about cricket and her flags and Feddie Flintoff
This is a place where you can get your arts and crafts, which is locally made. The items are well craft, very artistic. Good for the tourist as well. I like it here.
I liked the layout of the shops, good parking and nice selection of local arts and crafts all in one spot. About 15-20 shops. Prices not too bad. BUT the atmosphere is uncomfortable, some negative attitudes from some shopkeepers. They have tourist fatigue.Go if you are in the area but dont make a special trip.
The Pelican Craft Center is a good place, though only with some stores open, to find local craft work done by the Barbadians. The glass works and pottery are of extreme quality and with very reasonable prices. Besides, the place is usually empty and a few stores close before the scheduled time. You'd better call before getting there.

My wife and went to the Pelican Craft Center during our 2011 trip to Barbados, we had passed by it in 2010 but never had a chance to stop. It was quite disappointing, because the majority of the stores in Pelican are out of business and it's not much more than a lot of empty retail space. We found some...

My boyfriend and I decided to visit Pelican Craft Center after our plans for the day got canceled due to weather. I really didn't find many things there that were different from the other things I had seen around Bridgetown. As the other reviewers noted, there was almost no one there. I assumed it was because it was the low...

located near the cruise ship terminal, and full of craft shops for the more unusual gifts as opposed to the normal tourist gifts you normally see that no one really wants, there is also a good place to stop and eat and as the other reviewer mentioned very quiet here, as a lot of people go into town to spend...
