Highly recommend making the drive to Lac Bay. You can walk forever in the crystal clear water or just lounge on a chair and watch the wind surfers. There are some fun beach bar/restaurants there. We ate at a place called Wind and Surf Beach. dont recommend the beef burger, but the fish burger was great. This is one of the... More

These perfect conditions are rare. very large bay that is no more than waste deep with a sandy bottom and very little waves. It is absolutely gorgeous too. If you have ever considered wind surfing, this is the place to do it. Jibe city lesson was good and helpful. $50 for an hour lesson and 2 hour rental. 2 hours... More

My wife's parents live on the island and are avid wind surfers. We visited Lac Bay several times over the course of a week and saw what they enjoy about this spot so much!

This place is mostly dedicated for wind surfing. It could have been because we got there at around 4. There is a bar and perfect to order a drink and watch to windsurfers doing great stunts

When it wasn't swarmed with cruise-ship passengers, I enjoyed time spent here. The beach isn't very wide, but it's long enough to walk and if you continue walking down away from the businesses, you have a nice area to swim with fewer crowds. Otherwise I'd recommend entering the water from the Sorobon's boardwalk - far fewer people. The water is... More

We spent two afternoons at Lac Bay, one wind surfing and one just relaxing on the beach and walking in the water. Unless you are staying there, you will need a car but it is worth the drive.

Lac Bay, into which the island mangrove swamps drain, is a spectacular shallow sand bay, huge, with a large tidal drain at its centre. Juvenile fish spangle the centre drain and the rocky shores that abut the (dangerous) reef. But most of the bay is less than 4' deep, is warm, sunlit and gorgeous. Great for kids, and THE local... Looks like it is a little run down and needing some work at the resort area. Could be a real gem, if someone spent some money and did some marketing and advertising to tell folks about it. Might be a good night spot but we did not know.

Imagine shallow cristaline warm waters up to your thighs, the wind refreshing you and a lot of windsurfing. I loved this place, since we actually stayed at the other side if the island we only visited it once, but we stay all day long. Don't miss it if you visit the island.

By far the most beautiful beach I have ever seen. Great restaurant for lunch or snacks. Chairs are $5 for all day and its the best $5 you can spend. DO NOT MISS and GO EARLY on your vacation. You will be disappointed if you wait until last day on island.
