A smaller beach with calm waters and two bars offering chair rentals. Quiet, with a fair smattering of locals, this was our favourite beach. If you follow the sign from the main road to Friar's Bay Beach Cafe you will have to be their customer to park in their lot or risk towing (so the signs say). The road to... More

Calm water, two restaurants to choose from, lounge chairs and umbrellas for rent, very low key. Great for families with kids who want relatively calm water.

Nice beach. A little out of the way but worth it. Bring your own drinks and lunch. Bar/rest VERY pricey

Spent an entire week in Grand Case and took a cab to Friar's Bay...awesome beach. We had chairs at the Friar's Bay Beach Cafe and enjoyed the entire day. No beach chair beverage service so you have to walk up to the bar/restauarant(30 yards) to get a drink. We did see a number of folks with their own cooler and... More

On a beautiful Sunday afternoon, Friar's Bay is alive with sounds of Reggae music, bright beach umbrellas and tropical colored picnic tables. Nestled on the french side of St Maarten, its a real taste of the island without a lot of tourists.

This was my favorite beach on the island, small and private but not too out of the way! Very big waves at this beach, there are chairs with cushions and umbrella's there for rent. They also have a retaurant and with wi-fi on the beach!

We loved this beach and its European casual feel! Please go if you want a low key beach with beautiful water and great food at the bar (I mean seriously the best beach food I have ever had!). Please do not go if you are a loud obnoxious American! We prefer that you not embarrass us! Stay on the Dutch... More

Didn't see much that was special here. There are better beachs, like Happy Bay which is about a 10-15 minute walk from this one. Grand Case is a 10 minute drive and also has a better beach. Lots of sun without a lot of shade unless you have or rent an umbrella. A couple of beach bar/restaurants that we didn't... More

Small hidden beach, you have to take a back road and there are cows at the beach. My complaints are rocks on the shore but once you get through them the sand is soft and the water is very clear. It seemed that the undertoad was the strongest here also, when the waves hit the beach they come back toward... More
