The Queen's Park Savannah is a large grassy field with a pretty good jogging trail around it... and not much more. Except on the south side where the Carnival Grandstand sits. Its a nice grassy field with a few areas where people play soccer. Along the trail, you'll find a number of vendors who will sell you fresh coconuts. They...

Watched friends play a game of cricket and sat around drinking the local beers. Quite relaxing! However it was a bit dusty due to the dry spell of weather being experienced.
it's an excellent jogging/running/ cycling area! people play sports here. and we have ole castles around the savannah too! and there are many vendors too selling fresh coconuts and snow cones and doubles!
The only good part of the savannah is the north west corner with its turn of the century mansions (some in better repair than others!) Combined with a walk around the botanical gardens just north of the savannah and its a nice way to pass an hour or two.
It's a park, plain and simple. I went for a nice run round it, took in some of the views, noticed a few people knocking a cricket ball about and others a soccer ball. There are a few run down stately piles around the edge and coconut vendors selling refreshments but not much else.
Savannah is where the "locals" go to exercise..usually in the early evening. It is 2 1/2 miles around. Good place to walk, run and exercise. Also, you will "feel" and see the atmosphere of the locals who frequent the park. Do not go late at night. However, I suggest 5-7pm or early morning to "beat the heat and humidity".
Great place to just hang out with friends take along your picnic basket. You can have a coconut right there, a snow cone or maybe a corn soup. Easter weekend is the best time to go fly your kite with hundreds of other persons there doing the same.
We visited first during the day - it is a large empty piece of grass, and, in the dry season, fairly scrubby. However, if you return later in the day, it fills up with people flying kites, playing cricket, picnicking etc. Described as the world's larges roundabout, it is worth a visit in the early evening, but best avoided during...

Not much to see, a large green area in the centre of Port of Spain. Apparently it's not safe to walk across it alone. Can be a place for exercise, measures 2.4 miles in circumference so is worth an early morning jog before 7am. After that it could be too hot.
