This was by far our favorite snorkel spot. We saw a nurse shark, eel, flounder, turtle, ray, sea stars and tons of fish. It was very beautiful! There is a hike to get to the beach, but it's gorgeous. The water definitely got a little rough going around the cay, but manageable (my daughter is 12 and had no problems).... More

my husband took our 18 yo and 10 yo snorkeling in st. john and this was by far their favorite place out of trunk bay, maho, hawksnest, and cinnamon (hawksnest came in second). the beach has a lot of small rocks so not really an ideal swimming beach but more for snorkeling. they saw sea turtles, rays, starfish, and more.

The snorkeling here is terrific if you swim out to the little island and go around it to the left. Great coral, great fish, etc. In the not-as-interesting snorkel back to the shore, we saw a small nurse shark on the bottom. It's a bit of a walk from the parking area and the beach is only okay, so I... More

It is one of the best values on St John. A little under a mile hike and worth every step! It is a great spot for snorkeling.

watch for the baby sea urchins when you are entering. Otherwise a great snorkel spot. The big holes on the path are not giant spiders they are crabs. Stick a long piece of grass in there and see if you can get one to come out.

Make sure you get out around the cay to see all the corals. The current can be a little strong on the North side of the Cay. Well worth the snorkel. Just do spend too much time admiring all the star fish and forget to go to the island.

This is our 3rd year back to St. Johh, and Waterlemon is always our favorite snorkel. This year we went there twice. Our normal snorkel is straight out from the east side of the beach, looking at the many starfish along the way. We saw a cool peacock flounder on the side of the bay twice now. We often see... More

The 15-ish minute walk from the parking lot near the Annaberg ruins to Waterlemon Cay is surprisingly not far enough to keep a fair number of folks from visiting this delightful spot on St. John. Understandably so, I might add. The snorkeling here was a real treat. We started on the far end of the yellow-packed sand beach and swam... More

A bit of a drive to the trail. Then a bit of a walk down the trail. But I knew this and welcomed it. Nice sandy beach. Lots of Cushion star fish seen while snorkeling (2-hands in diameter). Turtles, Sting Ray, Eagle Ray with 20' tail, Sea Cucumber. Lots more fish out by the island (Waterlemon beach/bay has this Waterlemon... More

My husband and I got to the parking lot at 10:00am and started our hike to Waterlemon. It is a flat hike the entire way so doable in sandals. We first snorkeled in the little bay area and saw 2 green sea turtles chomping on grass and a few sting rays. We then hiked out to the point and swam... More
