Bay here is very flat and shallow, giving water a beautiful turquoise color. Water was warm, and you could walk out probably a quarter of a mile and water was still not waist deep.

Balandra is a beautiful bay offering shallow waters, white sandy beaches and a beautiful mountainous backdrop! This is a remote location so there is no where to really buy food, remember to bring snacks with you! The downside is that this is often a VERY busy location and on the weekends can be extremely overcrowded!
As we rounded the corner of road to the parking lot with a single vendor we were stunned at the color and beauty of this bay. As advised by others there are no services so bring all that you need with you. We gathered our things and walked down to and out into the crystal clear and warm waters. Schools...

This is the beach from which you can swim or kayak out to the famous "mushroom rock" The bay is very protected and the water shallow. At low tide, the water will only come up to your knees for hundreds of yards off shore. No restaurants or bathrooms. Some palapas, a ceviche truck, and a truck that rents kayaks for...

A nice beach, the one at the Costa Baja Resort is as nice, and they serve Corona. But watch out for white sand at both.
I literally stood for about 10 minutes just in awe of the beauty of this beach. Sure you have to walk several feet before the water gets deeper, but it’s worth it. It’s only about 15 minutes from downtown La Paz. This is a great snorkeling spot!
Closer to the evening though, watch out for tiny flies/mosquitoes that bite like...

Red rock hills behind, turquoise water and white sand - picture perfect beach. It is shallow water so you can walk for a while before being able to swim if the tide is low, but great for stand up paddling. Only a few palapas on the beach, no facilities so bring every thing you need. You can visit the restaurants...

Very calm, crystal clear water, soft white sand and a blue sky. The perfect tropical beach to relax. We initially just wanted to see the mushroom rock but was stunned by the beauty of Balandra Bay upon arrival. Any which way that we took a scenic picture, it came out postcard worthy. The mushroom rock was about 10 minutes walk...

We went there during Semana Santa (holy week) expecting it to be very crowded, and it was, but there was more than enough space for us to set up our shelter and chairs. The beach was lovely, nice clean white sand and the water was lovely, if a little cold.
If the guy selling donuts is there, I highly recommend...
