We stayed in La Paz for three days at the Hotel Perla, which is located on the Malecon. This boardwalk sort-of path is wide and accommodating for tourists, joggers, residents, and anyone just strolling through the bustle of La Paz. It is very well maintained and stretches the length of the main street. We noticed it was a place for...

The Malecon offers 2 very unique experiences. During the day this is a popular location for fitness courses, sports and day time tourism. At night it comes alive with local artists, little souvenir stands and delicious street food! Locals bring their families to enjoy the cool fresh breezes coming off the bay while the tourists come to here to get...

My husband and I took a nice walk along the malecon just before our dinner at Stella's Restaurant which is right by the downtown marina....great food and ambiance at Stella's BTW, but walking on the malecon is always a nice thing to do for beach lovers!
La Paz has done a marvelous job of maintaing the Malecon for it's visitors and us locals. It is wonderful to see families out on a Sunday evening
The Malecon is a major attraction for local La Paz citizens. It draws runners, in-line skaters, walkers and people watchers. The city has done a wonderful job beautifying it with lovely works of art.
We walked the length of the Malecon several times on Easter Sunday, followed by a couple of beers watching the crowds go by. Numerous Mexican families all enjoying the festival. As the sunsets the views towards the mountains become quite spectacular. A great way to pass a few hours and an essential activity for any visitor to La Paz.
Great place to walk, especially at night, no matter what day there are people running, walking, biking or just enjoying the beach at night. Great place where locals hang out. It's safe and no vendors bother you.
This is where we were able to see the faces of La Paz as we walked to restaurants and other spots. Many restaurants on the Malecon and shops are scattered along as well though most are a block or two off the strip. Local gatherings as well as music are often found to entertain you. Stopping for cocktails to watch...

I've been to a lot of Malecons (waterfront streets) in Mexico and La Paz's has always been my favorite. It's long, clean, with wide walkways, chock full of public art and very authentic. Since arriving in La Paz, I've walked it at various times of day and night and it's always fun. It's relatively quiet during the day, especially weekday...
