Alex, our tour guide made this trip enjoyable. It is about a 45 minute ride to a very beautiful, natural village filled with people who live off their own supplies, not relying on the city. My husband kayaked and even though the brocure says only kayaking, Alex let me paddle board because I said Ive always wanted too. He took... More

We compared ecotours and Vallarta adventures online and found the reviews to be much more intimate and personal with Ecotours. My wife and I booked our morning trip to snorkel and visit the Marietas. Frank was our guide for the day and was very friendly and knowledgeable. He took us to many spots that the other boats did not go.... More

Fernando our guide was very knowledgable of the eco systems of Puerto Vallarta and did an excellent job of pointing out various birds, insects, reptiles, and fish. There were only five of us on the hike and snorkel trip so it was very intimate. The hike was described as easy in the literature I read on line. This was NOT... More

We had a great trip- since it was just our group they were very flexible and allowed us to decide to snorkel or look for whales. It was an experience we will never forget!

we almost booked with Vallarta Adventures but they were sold out and I am glad they were. We had four adults and four kids (9, 12, 13, 15). We went to the island and along the way saw whales and they took us to a huge pod of dolphins, was amazing to see 100's jumping all around us!! We felt... More

This tour goes to the old mining town of San Sebastian in the mountains east of Puerto Vallarta. Ecotours website has more on the itinerary, Fernando Romo was excellent in all aspects of guiding the tour. In addition to the birding (lots of new birds, fun to see so many on the first trip to a region, and a good... More

My wife and I spent the last week of march 2013 in Puerto Vallarta and had in general a great time , but the most incredible day was the day we went snorkering to Islas Marietas with Ecotours and on the way the islands we found a group of whales and even though we were not going to see whales... I wanted to do a birding tour so my husband and I reserved a tour for the date our cruise ship was going to be in port. Our ship did not change its clock so the local time and the ship time was different. By the time our ship arrived at the port, we were one hour late. Fortunately, Eccotours... More

We went birding and saw over 50 species of birds in 5 locations over the span of several hours. First, we stopped at Los Arcos to view shorebirds. Then we went to 3 separate forested locations; we saw hummingbirds, flycatchers, woodpeckers, tanagers, and warblers, plus the more tropical mot-mots, caciques, and chacalacas. Finally, we finished our tour at the botanical... More

We did two trips during our stay in Puerto Vallarta - the whale-watching trip and the snorkel/sea kayak combo trip. I have been whale-watching before in various places and was impressed by the Ecotours trip. They started off by giving a short presentation about humpback whales and talked a bit about the research they are doing. The talk was interesting,... More
