The board walk is oustanding. The teguila shops are no more than cover for time shares. Go back a couple of blocks for better prices on souveniors. Watch artist build the sand sculptures. It is amazing. We have been on 3 trips to this area.We have never felt unsafe, but are still cautious.

We spent some time walking along here one morning. Lots to see and some places to eat at as well. Worth a couples hours during your trip to check it all out. Some interesting people watching as well! Enjoy!!

There are some lovely restaurants and boutiques here; however the experience is marred by vendors constantly trying to push jewelry, homemade items, and shopkeepers hollering at you from their stores! I felt as if I had to walk close to the ocean wall with my ipod to avoid being harassed.....

Had a great time and the best Mexican food we have ever had. Margaritas were $1.00 - doesn't get any better than that.

The Malecon is one of the top tourist attractions in PV, and with that comes both good and bad. The good includes the fantastic sunsets, the many sculptures and amazing street food. The bad really consists of the constant distraction from time share sharks and people trying to get you interested in buying tours. They can be a bit overwhelming,... More

Walking the Malecon is a must if you visit Puerto Vallarta. It's chock full of photo ops. There is beautiful art work all along the boardwalk. Bring change to tip various sand castle and other types of artists. Vendors often have artwork for sale, and the Malecon is loaded with restaurants, bars, and clubs. There is music and dancing in... It has been 12 years since out last trip to Puerto Vallarta and we were amazed at the changes. We spent one evening at the boardwalk and really enjoyed it. Just walked around had some food and enjoyed the shops and entertainment along the boardwalk.
