Great for all ages, restaurants are reasonable, beach is safe and calm. You can hike over from Playa La Ropa or take the shuttle boats from downtown
We took our fresh catch, tuna, bonita and dorado to a beachside shack where the proprietor prepared them THREE WAYS. Sashimi, Civieche and Grilled Filet. This is a restaurant that our Awesome Captain, Ernesto Salas works with and has a good relationship with. Cost was 5 USD per person. Amazing! Also had fabulous rice, cabbage and guacamole on fresh home... More
This beach has really built up since our last visit 15 years ago and now is jammed with beach restaurants and the crowds they attract!
Wall-to-wall palapa restaurants along on pretty beach but not much else really. It is touted as having excellent snorkelling but for anyone who has experienced quality diving/snorkelling you will be disappointed. The waters are shallow and sheltered so this would be acceptable for learners or those who feel uncomfortable in more open waters. We had lunch at Otilas which was... More
This beach is amazing. Plenty of fresh food options, lots of locals, and very reasonably priced. The water in the summer is like bath water. You are able to snorkel safely. A great way to spend the day!!
Take a water taxi from downtown's Municipal Beach to Las Gatas for a leisurely beach day. Lounge chairs line the lovely little beach with chair side food and beverage service. Several restaurants are here with good food. You can wander over to Owen Lee's paradoxical nature center. Read about it in his book "A Prisoner in Paradise". You can reach... More

We decided to catch a local bus (which cost us about $0.90(US Dollars) and in about 20 minutes, we were at "El Centro" of Zihuatanejo. We got off the bus on the Cinco de Mayo stop and walked about 15 minutes down an... More
my favorite beach in Zihua. lots of great restaurants and bars right on the water. they call this la piscina because the water is as smooth as a swimming pool. you can float undisturbed by waves for minutes on end. i'm not a fan of all the recreational water craft around or the exhaust fumes that come and go, but... I've been reading so many reviews saying that this was the best beach in Zihua..it's not. we went on a Monday thinking it wouldn't be so crowded with locals..WRONG. Plus! going into the water the sand is not soft AT ALL. The sand is pretty much broken shells and bits of coral (ouch!) The water was blue but it was... More
