nor really the kind of beach that some one will visit during a holiday, the sand is almost all gone, wáter is still nice but people around are not so nice nor is easy to go in the wáter and leave your stuff on the sand as there are lots of people that seem to lose their belongings quite often.

Playa Tortugas is in the northern hotel zone of Cancun, but is more of a "locals" beach than a pristine tourist beach like you see farther down the coast. Rugged rocks line the coastline, making it an interesting diversion from your average beach. Folks are content to settle in amongst the nooks and crannies for an enjoyable day in the... More

I am writing this REVIEW so everyone who visits or stops by la playa de tortuga which is on the main rd on the hotelera (hotel)zone next to riu hotels. Avoid the tour sellers located right in front on the main parking for this beach, next to a mini-super-tortugas store. I purchased two vouchers for the B.O.B underwater activity and... More

We visited Playa Tortugas for a relaxing beach day and it was just that. Fun little beach, the sand is so soft and the water is so clear. We sat at a restaurant in their beach chairs and had a drink and lunch there under the beach umbrella. We didn't have towels so this was perfect for us. The beach... More

We came here twice but this was the first trip to Mexico we came here. One day we came just to explore, then we came back the next day to take the ferry to Isla Mujeres. If you like ceviche, they had great ceviche at the beach bar. I had the mixed ceviche, which was shrimp, white fish, conch, and... More

Sea is wonderful in Cancun, no doubts. And this small beach is not bad. But it is very noisy, full of seaweeds, and you are asked every minute if you want to buy something. Of course it depends on what you are looking for, but beaches in Isla Mujeres, or south to Puerto Morelos, are way better.

This is at kilometer 6 towards the zona hotelera. You can bungee jump, get lunch on the beach or go further down the beach and find a nice little spot to relax surrounded mostly by locals. The water is nice for swimming (not really any waves, which a lot of the Playas out here have plenty of). Easy to snorkel... More

Just a little walk from our hotel! Shopped at the market and Henri gave us great deals! LOVED taking the yellow ferry to Isla Mujeres! $17 USD round trip!
