We have half-day, full day and overnight horseback riding excursions available. Our expert cowboy guides lead you safely through working cattle ranches, into Coyote Canyon(a.k.a. Cañada de la Virgen), through its river, over its plains, across its gorges, and down its sheer cliffs, all the while sharing with you their in-depth knowledge of the native flora and fauna. Their horseback riding excursions are exciting and rugged yet can also be tailored for families with small children or for seniors who would prefer a slower pace. Or if you require a little more adrenaline you can add some rappelling at the end of your ride or hike through the canyon. We also offer the finest tours available of the archeological site named "Sitio Arqueologico Cañada de la Virgen", which is a 1600 year old pyramidal complex in the same area. « less

Fantastic day spent on horseback in a steep canyon. Super home-cooked lunch followed. Very rustic. Highly recommended for something to do outside SMA. A little difficult to make arrangements but well worth the effort. Many other activities available: ATV, hot air balloon, tour of nearby Cañada de la Virgen pyramid.

I've been out a couple of times and must say this is one of my favorite places to horseback ride. The cowboys are wonderful, especially if you are interested in practicing your Spanish. The ride was very safe the guides are super attentive but not overbearing. The scenery is lovely and the home made meal was one of the best... More

This was by far the best day I spent in San Miguel! The "tour guides" we're amazing, friendly, knowledgable, and safe. I had a blast, and tried things I didn't think I would. I would recommend this to everyone! I will be coming back and bringing my mom and uncle in August! Good food, good people, good times!

Just came back from a fantastic ride down and through the canyon with my wife and two kids. Breathtaking views and good horses. There were 9 people in the group and four guides/cowboys. This was my only my fifth time on a horse and I was a bit hesitant at the trail heading into the canyon, but the horse was... More

After I went riding in Inner Mongolia last summer, I was afraid I'd never be able to ride the same way again, totally free, without the constricting etiquette of English riding that seems to be pretty omnipresent in the East Coast. Well, this place let me do all that I wanted to do and more-- it's amazing and exceeded my... More

On our last day in San Miguel, my daughter and I signed on for the tour of the pyramid and a half day horseback ride. The experience was amazing. Albert gave an incredible tour of the pyramid he helped work on. His explanations were informative, detailed, fun and inspiring. What an opportunity to go to the site with someone who... More

We tend to focus on the delights of San Miguel within the city limits, but this trip, which is a short ride and a good walk to a most amazing place, is especially great because of Albert, the guide. How often do you get a chance to have a tour with someone as informed and educated and experienced, and as... More

We love visiting San Miguel and Guanajuato, it's such a stunning mix of the best of Mexico. On this visit with our son and daughter visiting from England we decided to book a day's horse riding excursion with Rodrigo of Coyote Canyon Adventures. The whole experience was fantastic, well organised but relaxing and great fun. Rodrigo and his team of... More

I'm a professional horse trainer from Texas. I was skeptical of the adventure but went with another professional trainer and two of our clients who own and show their own horses. I was absolutely amazed at the entire experience...these horses could things that my 100k horses could never do. The views were outstanding and the trails were treacherous, yet simple... More

5 stars program! Dr. Albert T. Coffee provides a passionate, knowlegeable and fascinating tour of the Canada de la Virgin pyramids complex, just outside San Miguel de Allende. We were in the area briefly in March and Dr. Coffee agreed to take just the two of us on our last morning. It was a magical experience, enhanced by the descriptions... More
