So big and charming. Comparable to those in Europe! I visiting during a service and the setting is amazing. Very close to many hotels and restaurants.
Over the top plaster moldings, gilt and decor. Rose motif here does Juan Diego proud. Even if you have seen a jillion churches in Mexico this one is unique.
At night time, this church is not to be missed. It glows. If you are in Morelia on a Saturday night make time to watch the lights turn on. Beautiful church, very close to the aqueduct. While the outside of the church is pretty plain, the inside of this church is just fantastic!! While church is currently under renovation, place is open for visits and visitors can still admire this incredible site.
loved the way the sanctuary was done as well as the courtyard. When we were there the church was under reconstruction so we did not get to really enjoy what was there. But the architecture designed by the indigenous is quite distinctive
