The day we went to Banff it was cloudy and rainy. The Gondola is very expensive for just a ride up the mountain ($34.95 for adults) The view is breathtaking, but I would advise not to waste your money on a very cloudy day... take in the hot springs pool instead and relax... if it's not crowded that is :)

My wife and I spent the Victoria long weekend in and around Banff celebrating my birthday. Even though we have been on the Gondola several times we went again. It is always a little scary and certainly offers a breathtaking view unique to the Canadian Rockies. This time we opted to include the Alpine Light with a 7 pm sitting.... More

The gondola ride was fun and the area is beautiful. We took the walk up the stairs to the summit of sulphur mountain and it was wonderful. Had a great time. Was a highlight of our trip. Staff were polite and the fellow travellers were polite and generally wonderful to interact with.

I do recommend the Banff gondola, although I found it somewhat expensive. But the view is outstanding and really deserves to be seen. The restaurant up there however is not good enough. The rib came cold and the quality of the meat is barely reasonable. Small variety of beers and the wine is low quality. The waiter could not even... More

The Banff Gondola takes you up an almost vertical mountainside to a viewing area from which you can see all over the town and valley. It was quite cold up there! (Mid-May) but well worth the trip. For foreigners and new visitors, the Banff-Lake Louise area is absolutely spectacular! It's well worth a visit and, in fact, possibly the best... More

Got the Gondola to the top of Sulpher Mountain and what beautiful views we had it was a clear day so when you are going maybe keep an ear out for the weather ... it was 34.00 dollars each for the 2 of us for the 12 minute ride up. In fairness it is a bit expencieve but it is... More

A long cable car ride to the top of the mountain offering incredible views of the town and surroundings (obviously weather dependent). The lady at the ticket booth told us what the conditions were like before we bought our tickets. You can either view from the top of the cable car or use the skywalk to climb higher - well... More

The ride was amazing and supper was beyond words well worth the time and money! The prime rib supper included all the trimmings and the portions were more than enough!!

We had been here before but every time we ride to the top of the gondola the ride is just magic. Excellent views, good explanations of how the gondola was built, good hikes from the top or from the bottom. Today was a gorgeous day and that helped, but in any day the gondola is a highlight of Banff.

Great view from the mountain but the gondola is way overprized. Tourist rip-off like many other attractions. But it's clean and the restaurant up top isn't all too bad.
