A great short side trip and if you have kids or elderly family, drive to the top where the buses drop off the groups and it is only a few minutes to walk to a fantastic view. However, be prepared for crowds as sometimes several bus tours arrive at the same time. Be patient and you will get your photo... More

We knew that this area is very scenic but this lake is still beyond and above expectation. It is looking down at the lake from above and so different from Lake Louise & Morraine Lake. Definitely worth the 10 min walk up. The time we stayed there enjoying the view, we just kept hearing "Wow!", "Oh my God"....

This was fabulous - an easy walk from the parking lot. I recommend going up the road on foot, to the handicapped parking at the top - the road is more gradual and easier on my old knees and hips than the trail. Take the trail back down if you want. It is only about a 10 minute walk from... More

Stunning! After a short slightly strenuous climb in the thin air the view of the lake is amazing. Definitely the best lake view on our journey from Calgary to Jasper

This is a beautiful lake and a very pretty spot. Look, take a few pictures and thats about it. As I recall, it was a bit of a "trek" from the parking lot to the overlook.

Take the 40 minute drive up from Lake Louise, and then a short hike up from the parking lot for a spectacular view of this azure colored lake amid the mountain peaks.

It's not a short hike yet.. the main parking lot is snowed in currently, so its a good 20 minute walk in the icy/snowy trail. It's not as bad as it sounds, I wore sneakers, and didn't fall, but the snow nearby is deep. For your exercise, and there were LOTS of people doing it, you will be rewarded with... More

This place is a gem! The view point is a short 15 min hike from the main carpark and it affords excellent views of the lake and the surrounding mountains. We came in early may and there was still a lot of deep snow on the road from the main car park up to the trail access which made the... More

Peyto Lake is a gorgeous glacial lake visible from the Bow Summit turnout on the Icefields Parkway. Its elevation is 1,880 m, its length is 2.8 km, and its area is 5.3 square km. Finely ground rock particles carried into the lake by glacial melt water, give its water an exquisite turquoise or emerald color. Its primeval-looking shores are heavily... More

You might wonder whether you should stop on the ice fields parkway and walk up to Peyto Lake!!! Do it! That is the best decision you could have made! Unbelievable! I can't describe the lake as I was spellbound! Blue water sparkling in the sun stretching ahead of you..walk up the trail head to the view point to get good... More
