We've attended several concerts both classical and pop. Over the years their program has shifted heavily to pop. I really feel bad for the members of this orchestra having to play show tunes and Billboard top 10 pop favourites of days past to appeal to Calgary's tastes. Definitely informal and down home. The classical concerts have been superb; they are... More

I have attended several concerts per season for the las 7 or 8 seasons and have rarely been disappointed. Excellent sound in an excellent venue, Musicians from all over the world come to play with the Calgary Philharmonic Orchestra.

A Paintbrush for Piccolo This delightful storybook was performed by two talented local actors plus Bella, the marionette beagle-like puppy, to the grand music of the Calgary Philharmonic Orchestra in the majestic Jack Singer Concert Hall. A tale based in 16th century Rome and complete with some history of the great Michelangelo. The experience leaves young and old alike filled... More

I just attended the CPO's live presentation of Peter Jackson's "Lord of the Rings: Fellowship of the Ring" with live orchestration and choral. It was fantastic.

What to say about a group of musicians who make great music and obviously have fun doing so? The CPO does not only do the classic philharmonic concerts but they also try to attract people with a 'Pops' series and with 'Specials' like 'Thriller - the best of Michael Jackson' or 'Bowfire - Sizzling Strings'. The core business and what... More

Always enjoy the performances this year especially Denzil Sinclair and to hear some local talent even better like our Jan Lisecki top rate performances. Let continue to have more of our local talent from our fair city. I highly recommend Thomas Yu whose performances are top rate and should be made known to our fair city of pianists. Is there... More

I went to the children's Sunday matinee with an 8 and 5 year old. Great introduction for the children, fun and interactive activities in the lobby, and a good performance. The music itself (quality of the orchestra) is fairly average but good nonetheless.

The CPO is a very great orchestra that always performs top-notch. They usually perform at the Jack Singer Concert Hall where there really isn't any bad place to sit. So far, all the programs I have seen so far have been fantastic, (Beach Boys and Bugs Bunny) and I am looking forward to seeing the Lord of the Rings this... More

The orchestra is fantastic - the quality of the music is amazing and they play such a wide variety of shows. I love the annual movie at the CPO where they play the sound track live. The cpossibilities tickets are great they're $12 for under 30s which makes the CPO a great alternative to a movie. Try sitting behind the... More

Calgarians have every reason to be very proud of their CPO. The orchestra is first-rate and world class. The repertoire is extensive and always very well executed. The CPO go from strength to strength and would be hard to match just about anywhere. Interesting programmes and soloists. We're so lucky to have such an outstanding orchestra in our city.
