Went here when I was a child; remember there were nature experts there; it was the place to inquire about local nature questions; very small area devoted to nature and very big toddler time room with things to climb and tunnels, blocks to build; if you have a toddler this is the place but if you want to know about... We visited here during the winter, and there is a nice indoor play area (wheelchair friendly) that my kids could run around and burn off pent up winter energy. When they were done with that, we could go into the other side of the centre and learn about lots of local wildlife. My kids enjoyed petting a snake, and checking... More

We visit JJNC fairly regularly with our two kids under age 6. They love the indoor play area. There are registered programs as well as daily stuff that goes on that is nature-related. Some of these things are held in really tight spaces, however, and that's frustrating when every kid is trying to see whatever tiny nature thing the instructor... More

My son loves nature and animals etc. Taking him to a place like this was amazing. He didn't even want junk from the gift store, or any high priced food. Too absorbed in the beauty around him. That is saying a lot if a place can accomplish that, with a three year old boy

Wonderful nature walks, great educational programs, a "must see" for every city kid! They have programs from geocaching for all ages to worm composting. A great place for nature enthusiasts who live in the city.

Lots of hands-on displays with good educational components. Lots of room for the kids to explore. Not so big that the kids get bored.
