Cheese & Wine tasting! This winery is a must on your Naramata wine tour!! The staff has always been friendly and I've never been able to leave without buying cheese! Love this place.

Situated in Penticton, at the gateway to the picturesque Naramata Bench, Upper Bench offers a unique experience to locals and visitors by offering pairings of their two passions: artisan wine and hand-crafted cheese. This year, winemaker Gavin Miller is very excited to add two more reds to Upper Bench’s wine flight: a smooth Cabernet Sauvignon and a rich, bold Zweigelt in addition to their award-winning Chardonnay, Rosé, Pinot Gris, Riesling, Pinot Noir, as well as a Pinot Blanc and Merlot. All of Upper Bench’s wines come from the mature vines on Upper Bench’s unique seven-acre seven varietal vineyard and a select few other vineyards on the picturesque Naramata Bench. Cheesemaker Shana Miller continues to create her unique and highly sought-after hand crafted artisan cheeses in her on site, CFIA registered state of the art creamery. She now has eight delectable cheeses in her aging rooms: U&Brie, Gold, Gold French, Gold Italian, Okanagan Sun2, Grey Baby, King Cole, and occasionally Moody Cow. Come and watch Shana hand-craft her cheeses through the creamery window, speak to Gavin about his award-winning wines and latest releases, and enjoy a wine flight perfectly paired with one of our cheese platters on our sunny Naramata Bench patio. Open daily from 10am to 6pm from May through October and 10am to 5pm Monday to Friday and by appointment on weekends from November to May.

This is a nice stop on the Okanagan winery circuit. It sits on Upper Bench Rd just off Naramata Rd on the east side above Penticton . Now, we've all done the wine and cheese thing at home. At the Upper Bench you can do it as well. They will pair a wine or two with cheeses and this is a refreshing treat after slogging through several glasses of wine all by itself (or with a dry cracker) at the other places. By far one of my favorite wineries in the Okanagan! Delicious hand made cheese to die for, fresh fruit forward and well balanced wines and knowledgable employees. Couldnt have asked for a better experience at an Okanagan winery. Highly reccomended to anyone visiting the Okanagan!

Yum cheese and tasty wines, among my favourite the day I tasted were their mystery Rose and their very tasty Pinot Gris -- a great example of Naramata Bench Pinot Gris.
