Shakespeare by the Sea is a troupe of players who perform various plays by the Bard, but also unique plays of their own. I saw "Alice in Wonderland" and enjoyed that very much. It was a lot of fun to watch the reactions of the kids in the audience. The plays are performed in the open air during the long,... More

Shakespeare and other classics offered by this creative and determined theatre company. They've hung in there through formative years to become a really viable and reliable source for great entertainment. The added bonus of enjoying theatre al fresco as they perform in beautiful Pt. Pleasant Park is unbeatable. Bring along some snacks, dinner, wine - --- enjoy!

These guys can really put anything together, from a kids' play to serious Shakespeare - and pull it off in an outdoor theatre. Well worth a visit - bring a chair and a sweater and enjoy enjoy enjoy.

My family of four, two adults and two children, went to see Alice in Wonderland and we loved it! It was set in Cambridge Battery, Point Pleasant Park, which was about a 10 minute walk from the parking lot to the theatre so allow yourself some extra time to get there. The cast was wonderful and funny which kept everyone... More

I went to see both Alice in Wonderland and Titus Andronicus. Both were very different pieces, yet the amazing company managed to pull them both off. I was very entertained and I highly suggest seeing what work this company produces. Alice is great for families and Titus is entertaining to adults and shakespeare fans alike. Also the shows are by... More

Who da thunk Shakespeare, let alone Titus Adronicus could be fun? These performers did a fabulous job. The setting was at the Cambridge Battery and was perfect! As the evenings are getting chillier I would suggest dressing warmly and bringing a blanket. you can rent a chair for $2 and blankets for (I think ) $1 or bring your own... More

The mostly young actors in the troupe are excellent and passionate about their craft. This summer, they are producing 3 plays, two by Shakespeare (The Merry Wives of Windsor, and Titus Andronicus) and one created by the troupe themselves (Alice in Wonderland). We saw the first half of Titus Andronicus; then rain started to fall seriously, and the rest of... More

Shakespeare by the Sea should be a Halifax requirement. The actors are so talented and so passionate. They put on amazing plays, in a very cool venue. Remember to bring a sweater because it gets chilly down in the park at night. Beyond worth the $15 suggested donation. I'd go back every night if I could.
