About 15 years ago, my wife and I, who have skied every decent-sized resort in North America, learned of the sport's best kept secret. Until that year Le Massif de Charlevoix had to bus skiers to the top, but they had now built a couple of high-speed quads, and one of the finest base lodges on the Continent - certainly,... More

We took the train from Quebec City to Le Massif on Friday, January 18, 2013. The food was exquisite, the service was five-star, and the view was amazing. The train follows a track right beside the St. Lawrence river. For much of it, you have a rock wall on one side and the river on the other. The ice flows... More

We took a taxi to the train station, no problems. The train is new with appropriately chic furnishings. Nice gourmet breakfast and tapas with local ingredients. Baie St Paul was a nice diversion, enjoyed gourmet lunch and cider tasting. The scenery was a little different than I expected, it is not through mountains but is instead along the St Lawrence... Absolutely stunning setting... tracks the river to The base of Le Massif (or if you want to go into town, it's the next stop 10 min away) You get off and a gondola whisks you to the top of the mountain. The hr or so train ride includes impeccably mannered staff, white glove breakfast service (the dinner was tapas on... More

A train which is normal. Not this one. Everything was perfect. A welcome and generous smiles. From 9:00 in the morning to 8:30 at night, it was unforgettable. The kindness of the people who are there to serve you or help you, food worthy of the great leader, the breathtaking landscapes that make us discover a great part of the... More

We took the day trip to Baie St. Paul. You are greeted with a nice breakfast served by friendly helpful staff. You will not go hungry on this trip. A gourmet breakfast. Arriving in Baie St. Paul you can visit the local galleries and have a nice lunch and then get ready for the return trip. On the return gourmet... More

We took the day long train. The train starts at Montmorency Falls, just east of Quebec City and runs all the way to Point au Pic (a bit west of La Mai Baie). Breakfast is served as the Train makes its way along the north shore of the Saint Lawrence River. There is a 31/2 hour stop at Baie St.... More

We just returned from riding the train this last weekend. We chose the 1 day trip that leaves in the morning (small breakfast served) goes north to Baie St Paul (4 hour layover) and then 1 hour north to Malbaie and then returning back to Quebec City where dinner was served. This cost $275 per person before taxes. Here are... More

In short, if you want to spend an evening seeing the scenery along the St. Lawrence River north of Quebec City and eating a gourmet dinner, this is an attraction you will enjoy. I would rate it highly and you will be very satisfied. I apologize for the long review, but provide information others might want to know since this... More

This is a great day excursion (or I believe you can go one one day and back the following day). 10am departure from Quebec City, for a 3.5hour gentle and very beautiful train ride up, mostly along to coast/riverside to Charlevoix. Then 3 hours at leisure to wander, before the train ride back. Fabulous meals served for both lunch and... More
