We drove around Lake Tahoe on our recent stay in Incline Village, NV. The views of Emerald Bay were breathtaking! There were several places to stop and look around. We took lots of pictures. There is a lodge at the base of the bay that you can only get to by walking a mile down the hill. We didn't take... More

The views at Emerald Bay are exactly what you'd dream of at Lake Tahoe. They're breathtaking. The hiking is ideal for people who are somewhat active - the trails are easily marked and the maps are easy to follow. However, do not take on the hiking if you are not prepared to walk a few miles with incline. If you're... More

Easy to find when driving around the lake and after a mile hike down you are on the shores of Lake Tahoe. Worth taking the paths around the bay out to the main Lake and if you take the right path make time to look at Lower Eagle Falls

Very beautiful scenic area. Only about a 45 minute drive from South Lake Tahoe. Make sure you bring a camera and maybe a tripod (to get yourselves in the pictures).

Emerald Bay is one of Tahoe's most beautiful vista points. From Tahoe City or South Lake Tahoe it is an easy drive (weather dependent) and has access to a fair sized car park. Easy access to a viewing platform of the island in the centre. Further along is a short stroll down to lake level. Here you can access, further... More

Emerald bay vista point at South Lake Tahoe..is where you have to stop and take the your picture with the Lake and the island at the background. The lake is may be 2000 feet straight down. There are some big rocks (you can sit/climb). There is a very nice beach down below (Emerald Bay), you can hike down. It’s short... More

September 17, 2012 we took the M.S. Dixie II dinner cruise and what a disappointment! The cruise didn't leave until 5:25 pm. That was way to late and the sun was behind the mountains by the time we got to Emerald Bay. When I complained, they gave me a free drink. lol Just be aware of the sunset time and... More

Well worth a trip from Tahoe. The views are stunning. The drive is a bit circuitous, but worth the trip.
