I love World War II History! I've been living in Manila for more than 10 years, until my bf brought me here a few months ago. Imagine I never thought this place is so beautiful, green, tranquil and educational. Reading through the names of those American and Filipino soldiers who died during the Battle of the Philippines and New Guinea,... More

It is such a large piece of the Manila landscape, and I had a map showing the location, but the taxi driver still did not know it, or how to get there. I had to direct him. Staff are very warm and welcoming, and gave a personal presentation to us. We then walked freely around. It is very educational, but... More

On my last day in Manila I headed for the American cemetery. I was very moved by the enormity and tranquility of the cemetery. It has been well thought out and designed and it was an honor to visit and pay my respects to the fallen. The gardens are meticulously kept and the memorials are beautifully laid out. Lest we... One must-see attraction is this cemetery and memorial. It is a literal oasis of a memorial honoring the World War II fallen. The cemetery contains the graves of over 17000 identified servicemen and women, both American and Filipino, with headstones showing religious affiliation, whether it be a cross or a Star of David. Poignantly, some graves have two bodies where... More

I really enjoyed this cemetery, very nice tribute to all who were killed. The grass was a bit brown since I came in the winter but it was well maintained. Nice place to walk around and reflect.

My family visited the cemetery to pay our respects to an uncle who was killed in WWII. The cemetery helped us arrange for a spray of flowers to be there for our visit and they provided a guide who was wonderful. At the cross of our uncle, the guide rubbed black sand into the engraved name to make it easier... More

A beautifully kept cemetery as are all US war cemeteries around the world. A must visit for anyone wishing to take a moment's reflection on the sacrifices made in the South Pacific war. At times overwhelmingly sad especially the walk around the monument when one realizes just how many fallen soldiers, sailors and marines were never found

A very well tended cemetery as befits the men and women who fought for the freedom of the Philipines. It also serves as a reminder of the scale of the endevour. This is the second largest American Military Cemetery outside of Arlington. over 16 thousand grave stones and 37 thousand memorials.

This cemetery is unique in its conformity and spectacular in its simplicity. Take time to walk around and feel the loss of our fallen heroes. The site is neatly manicured and thoughtfully preserved, this historic cemetery has seen Manila grow up and around it. The photos on display in the office show a memorial surrounded by fields from when it... More
