Lovely position for gazing at Derwent water. But i didn't like the steep drop and watching the water un-nerved me and made me feel a bit unbalanced at times (I'm a novice at this walking in the lakes) Not many places to park nearby. Set off very early or leave the car.

Loved this walk. Reviews said grandma could do it, so I qualified. It was challenging enough to feel like an accomplishment, but still fun.

Start from Grange and take the road past the Borrowdale Gates Hotel to Manesty. Just after Manesty take the path up on to the fell keeping to a NW direction to Hause Gate before bearing W to a path crossing. Take the path N here up to Catbells and spend plenty of time taking in the great views. Retrace steps... More

The views from the top of Catbells are stunning! We do a lot of walking and so this was an easy climb for us - it is meant to be family friendly but I can see how some may struggle. Either way the views from the top are stunning! And well worth it. It takes roughly an hour to get... More

Has a bit of everything, path, woods, lake and Hill climb up to Catbells. Great to just relax by the lake with a picnic and fun for families.

I'm not a seasoned climber or even walker so I found this walk quite difficult. It is very steep in parts and seems to go on forever! Take refreshments, maybe some boiled sweets, because you will need an energy boost! But, my goodness, the views are spectacular!

This was one of the highlights of our trip. Definitely worth doing. Keep going - don't give up until you're on the top! The last section looks much scarier than it actually is. We met a lot of friendly encouraging walkers who helped us with the ascent. Make sure you descend over the top to enjoy the spectacular views of... More

The scenery in this part of the Lake District is wonderful. A great introductory walk, but can be busier than Victoria Station in the rush hour!

Lovely walk around the lower trail on Cat Bells and continued on around the lake for several miles and then back into Keswick.
