Brilliant view after hard slog up the hill. Watch your step on the way down - my friend put her foot on a metal spike in the ground and it went right through her shoe causing a bad injury. Don't know who is responsible for this footpath but it should be dealt with as a matter of urgency.
We were lucky enough to park in the lay by at the foot of the walk and then started. The first few hundred yards were quite a trek but keep going even if you feel you want to give up, those of us who are not as fit as we think. Stop and admire the views as I kept saying...

the best views of the lake and only a short walk from the centre of windermere. there are a few different paths to take to the summit for different strnght walkers too.
Climbed here a number of times and never fail to be amazed at the fantastic view from the top. A steep inital climb of 10 minutes or so and you are treated to a breathtaking vista over Windemere, so don't forget the camera and camcorder. Loved views it is quite a high climb but worth it took about 25 mins to top, take a couple of drinks and snacks and stop awhile.

I went there alone after the rain, almost fell off the top due to the strong wind and mud, but the top itself gives an amazing view, but please do it in dry weather!
