What can you say about this place, great, wonderful, grand and maybe even daunting because of its size and scope. It would take me many vacations to explore the historic artifacts, artworks, and educational displays offered by the museum. I mean it has the Rosetta stone for god's sake. The real one! It seems like it has more Greek statues... More

This is a great exhibition - the wealth of artefacts is amazing, as is the fact that they survived the heat and rubble of the volcanic eruption at all. The exhibition really does give an insight into how people lived in those towns at that time. Unfortunately it was extremely crowded, which made it almost impossible to get close to... More

Artifacts you won't see in their own countries, beautiful displayed. A very impressive museum. So much to see, you could spend hours or days.

Thanks to network rail I was an hour late but the staff were very understanding and let me use my timed ticket. I would have liked longer to look at the exhibition but time had been cut short. However I'm sure most other galleries etc do stay open until 6.00pm and talking to friends who live in London they don't... More

Visited this exhibition towards the end of May 2013, having pre-booked tickets via the museum web site.Booked the first viewing time at 10.00am,not that crowded and easy to see everything at your own pace, very well planned, organised, and layed out-like a Roman Villa. Spent two and a half hours,so we saw everything. The large book (for those with reading problems)made it all... More

Brilliant insight into life 2 thousand years ago, go and see if you can, it is well worth a visit. Enjoyed every minute, the exhibition is broken down into studies of each room in a typical house of the time and cleverly gives you the essence of life as it was.

The exhibition was excellent but one day is not enough to see all that the museum has on show. Will definitely be back.

Best archaeological museum in the world. Period. Here you have the most important works of art from each ancient civilization, you cannot ask for more. Besides, you can take as many photos as you want because it is allowed. From the Parthenon frieze to Mesopotamian monumental doors, from Roman jewellery to the Rosetta stone, you cannot miss it. Great great... More

I can't even begin to start explaining how much we enjoyed the British Museum! My husband and I have enjoyed museums in the US and Europe and this is one of the best ones we've been to! (based on content) We went on a Tuesday evening and felt that the amount of visitors was reasonable. We didn't spend as long... More

Do not miss the history and artifacts housed in the architectural gem of the British Museum. Take as long or as short of time that you have 1 hour will leave you yearning for more Two to three hours will allow for a good visit and excellent overview.
