i mean the puppetry is great, but apart from a couple of amazing drummed up horse galloping scenes, the acting was average

Great show, would definitely recommend it. The puppetry was very well done. Looking at the horses, you would think they were real. 5 of us went to see it and we all enjoyed it.
Just fantastic. Took my 9 year old son as treat as he loved the book. We were in the cheap seats but it hardly mattered, we missed a tiny bit of the action but could hear everything, the effects used were fantastic, oh and the story is good too!
This is one amazing show, very well acted, produced and really tugs at the heart strings, well worth a visit.
what a fantastic production. We had brilliant seats at the stage. Totally enjoyed to show would reccomend everyone try and see it.

The performance by the lifesize puppet horse was very impressive, otherwise the storyline is weak, and the music and songs forgettable. The Theatre building was also disappointing. Definitely NOT a "dressing up" for a night out type of place.

As expected, my wife, and others in the audience were moved to tears at times. The puppetry of several full-size horses on stage was remarkable - someone has studied the particularly head movements of horses very well, so you do not notice the operators, just the emotions.
I saw this some time ago, and could appreciate it rather than enjoy it as such. It's beautifully done, but I found it hard to watch the subject matter. That's a personal thing though!
