To take a walk in the eccelsal woods is a very good way to spend an hour! The old trees and the creek makes you relax!

Lovely woodland walks for the family. Dogs love it and so close to Sheffield. Should be more poo bins though. Not sure what the Woodland centre is trying to be though

Ecclesall woods is a great place for a dog walk. With a river and bridle way running through, it takes a few visits to not get completely lost. Starting at Abbey Lane, Abbeydale Road or Dore... there are a variety of ways to park and enter the woods. The sign posts are helpful until you become familiar with navigating your... More

An old woods, with mature trees. A nice visitor centre in a log cabin style with plenty of instructional "woody" stuff going on, like coppicing; carving; woodsmanship etc. Plenty of birds too if you take the time to walk, but this is a pleasant way to cross from Abbeydale to Ecceshall. This next piece in quotes is from their website:... More

Love dog walking here, quite busy at weekends, but generally meet nice people & lovely dogs. Plenty of room for everyone and easily varied routes each visit. Loos and centre at the woodyard fab.

Ecclesall Woods is quite a bit larger than I had given it credit for. However, the pathways are large and well signposted. My first trip was in the ice and it was very hard going. Choose your time and you will be well rewarded with a walk through ancient woodland with an opportunity to follow the path of Limb Brook.... More

If you love your pooch, take him here. Also good for the kids to run amuck, build dens and generally do all the sorts of things they probably wouldn't be allowed to do in their own back gardens

This is a lovely place for a walk as it is cool and shaded and there are loads of little paths to explore. When the spring flowers are out the daffs and bluebells are gorgeous. You can spend loads of time here and it is a lovely place to walk the dog.
