Why some people have given this place good ratings is beyond me because just about everyone I know would never drink in the place!
OK it's got a cinema, the casino and Freya's restaurant are Ok; and theres some handy chain eateries but the bars are just soulless dives full of pubescent daftees and the stag/hen parties that descend on...

We arrived at the Gate for a meal on a Friday night and it was heaving with guys. I was a bit put off, but walking through them they were all good natured and only out to have fun. We enjoyed our time at the gate and would go back to eat there again.
Whilst this car park is convenient this does not justify the price - for one hour it is often as much as £6 in the evenings. Not only is it hugely expensive, the card readers never work so if you have no cash you have to re park and go find a cash point! This happens everytime!!!!! Ridiculous when there...

I was here twice in march the first time it wasn't as good as the second as we used more of the gate. The cinema is fairly priced and the restaurants are decently priced as well so over all it was pleasant.

It is a popular place all day long, situated opposite the Eldon Square shopping centre, but really...

Went out in February for a friends birthday, unfortunately the weather wasn't brilliant so we headed for the cover of the gate. Good bars with different music and atmospheres to suit all tastes. If your out in Newcastle and the weather turns on you I would recommend The Gate.
I go to the Gate to the Cinema on Discount Tuesdays. Great films for £3.60 whatever your age. Loads of places to eat at reasonable prices. If it wasn't for the cinema I probably wouldn't go.
We visited the Gate on a night out in January 13, Don't really know Newcastle at all so after asking peope where to go we headed there. Have to say we were really impressed and wished Bradford/Leeds had somewhere this good to go. So many restaurants and bars in one place right in the town centre. We didnt have much...
