We did the guided tour of the Castle and were not disappointed. You learn so much more from well informed guides and our guide showed a real passion for the local history especially the Castle history.

As we did not arrive till evening we only viewed the exterior of Caernarfon Castle. Interesting to see if you have never seen it before.

We were first through the gates at 9.30am and were able to explore the castle pretty much on our own although it was getting busy by the time we left. This was a very interesting castle to walk around. We parked beside it on the quay for £4, but that was for the day, so we could also look round Caernarfon afterwards. Three adults and four children.All enjoyed the castle.Something for everyone.Really interesting and informative place. Children were aged 5 to 9 had a good three hours there but any longer wolud be a bit much for younger children. Would definately recommend a visit.
