went to see the johnny cash tribute concert music was great but the could have had it place as it was in a clinical concert room not that big and not in the prison as you may expected.
I am a WorldHost Customer Service trainer with the Northern Ireland Tourist Board and a few weeks ago, I brought a group of course delegates to the Crumlin Road Gaol to let them experience it firsthand. They all thoroughly enjoyed the visit and they will be recommending it to the people that they meet. Stephen was our tour guide and... More
Really interesting, well worth a visit. However I would recommend that if you go, don't bring young children in prams. It's not really accessible for them and it inconveniences the tour guide and the rest of the tour group, also the information is geared towards an adult audience so wee Jimmy will end up screaming in boredom and drowning out... We booked our work Xmas "Do" at the Crumlin Road Gaol this year as we were keen to "try something different"! We had a fantastic time....the venue was warm, very comfortable and well laid out. There were plenty of other people there too to add to the atmosphere but not overcrowded as so many places can be at this time... More
Wasn't sure what to expect from this., thought it might be a bit boring! How wrong I was. Gary the guide was so knowledgeable and added interesting wee snippets here & there, would definitely recommend this tour. The only thing I could add would be to get the tunnel all the way across to the court house, this would be... More
We totally enjoyed this experience. Our tour guide, Stephen, was excellent, and we felt like we had our own personal escort of the Gaol. We arrived in Belfast too early, but the helpful young lady let us go on the earlier tour, rather than sit around for an hour, which gave us more time to explore Belfast. I had been... More
The tour of the jail which takes just over an hour is fascinating and well worth taking. Our guide was excellent, friendly, informative and also entertaining. The tour takes you through one of the preserved Victorian wings, giving a fascinating insight into how brutal the prision system was and how it evolved over the years. An excellent tour, well worth... More
An amazing journey through time in what must have been a harrowing experience for those who ended up there. The tour was well organised and the guide most knowledgable. Impressive and informative. Really well worth the visit.... and a little quiz during the tour so make sure you brush up on your films ... there were a few shot at... More
Well worth a visit, An excellent guide gave me a real insight into what the gaol would have been like for inmates during the last 100 years.

Visited Crumlin Road Jail today using the, "hop on hop off" City Tour. Tour takes about an hour and Brendan our guide was both entertaining and informative. One wing and the main building of the prison is restored to Victorian condition and open. The others three wings are closed and still as they were when the prison shut in 1996.... More
