Enjoyed our afternoon tea return trip on the steam train. My husband really enjoyed being able to to sit back and enjoy the scenery without having to worry about driving as he had brought us up the A9 and it required his attention! The tea and cakes were nice, but the sandwiches were a bit of a let-down. Just a... More

Short steam trip, good price, nice staff. Nothing much to do at terminus unless you want to walk. Runs frequently at weekend but not mid week. Not too busy even though 2 booked coach tours.

We went on the steam railway twice on the one day! We had booked the afternoon train for Firsst class afternoon tea. This was wonderful. We had intended to wander round Aviemore but found it less than appealing so we went on the train 3rd class basic traveller and that was terrific. The staff onboard were very helpful and knowledgeable.

Return ticket cost £13 per person, Staff on and off the train were really friendly and professional. Had tea and scones in the dining carriage while enjoying the views. Worth a wee trip to see the scenery if nothing much else.

Taking a trip on a steam train is definitely a bit of nostalgia. Staff, right from the get go at the ticket office, were very friendly and extremely helpful. The ticket collector, was a gem, especially with his little piece of banter as we approached Broomhill and he explained about going through the station to redirect the engine as well... More

Took a trip on the railway this week with our 2 scotties, excellent although the 10.30am train was very busy and some people had to stand which would have been disappointing. Met some very nice Dutch people and the whole experience was good, as it is with most heritage trains.
