A run-down Georgian square with a park in the middle, best known as a land mark for reaching Croke Park, otherwise don't waste your time. If you want a view of Georgian buildings in Dublin well Mountjoy Square is not recommended. More

So much hidden history here, also where 'Once' the Irish Oscar-winning film was made - As a guide I'd recommend viewing the wikipedia page as there is little official tourism guides on the Square, despite links with literary giants James Joyce, WB Yeats, Sean O'Casey: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mountjoy_Square As for eating in Georgian North Dublin, there's the charming Cobalt Cafe on nearby...
