First castle in Ireland I have been too! It is so big! It was a nice tour and good to see how they lived years back. More

The best part of the castle is its exterior - a magnificent fortress with a large impressive lawn located on a scenic river. The interiors at nice, although it is frustrating not to be able to take pictures. The most impressive room is the main hall with its many banners and decorated timbered ceiling. More

I thought the audio-visual display was very interesting. Loved wandering around and marvelling at the amazing attention to detail - eg the painstaking reconstruction of the Japanese flowered wallpaper in one of the rooms. They let you walk through many rooms of the house and have informational plaques in each room. The castle went under MAJOR restorations and they took great care to bring the castle back to its former glory. I found it very impressive. The grounds are also very nice. More

Visiting the castle was just ok. every step you took someone was watching you and whenever someone would take out a camera, a swat team would yell NO PICTURES.. kind of cold and damp and mildewy smelling inside with not alot of great info. I'd skip it next time. More
