Situated by the Bridge, a great place for a daytime drink, or a rest while herself goes shopping.

My husband and I went into Tynan's for a pint and spotted Liam straight away. He was mingling with the locals. Davey Cashin was in the house that night as well as Stephen Murphy. It was as if time stood still. We had been in this pub one year ago to the day and not alot had changed. There are...

Great atmosphere, great music, great craic! The place is filled with locals and Liam makes visitors feel very welcome even when they are sitting on the bar!!! No visit to Kilkenny is complete without a visit to Tynan's.

We visited this pub in late August. It is a small traditional Irish pub, frequented mostly by locals. The owner was there, making everyone feel welcome. What a character!! The music catered to traditional and folk tastes and everyone was signing along. Great fun!

Great atmosphere once you walk through the door. The barman/manager is very friendly and jolly. Got everyone involved in the craic..both strangers and locals.
The decor is very well suited to the atmosphere of the place.
Only problem- we found it too late.
Cant wait to go back!!

We got chatting about hurling and sport with some of the locals and the night flew by...

My wife and I stopped in Tynan's based on TA reviews and because we saw the "Live Music Tonite" sign out front. Had a nice chat with the bartender and drank more than a few pints while listing to some good local music. If you're in Kilkenny you've got to stop by.
