Thanks to Tripadvisor, we spent our last day in Ireland hiking in the Ballyhoura on the Darragh Hills Loop. Don't be discouraged by the start, which is quite wet and muddy. This was a very challenging hike, taking around 2hrs to complete, with numerous hills and steep accents. We thoroughly enjoyed the hike and were glad for the exercise after... More

I have completed almost all of the Walks in this series and my Favourite is the Darragh Hills http://www.shannonregiontrails.ie/FindaTrail/Walking/LoopWalks/TrailName,11103,en.html followed by the Keale River Walk Bring wellies if the weather is wet as the ground is soft underfoot. Both of these walks are ideal for all ages and a Picnic is a must especially at the waterfall in the Keale... More

I live in this area, not far from Ardpatrick. I am so priveledged as a UK national to live here.. The walks are peaceful and could be romantic. Get a nice pic nic together and take your partner out over looking the Galtees and Blackwater Valley. Support the Ballyhouras

I went to Ballyhoura on a school trip with five other teachers and 120 high school school kids. We all had a great time! what a lovely place. Can't wait to go back for a hike on my own, think I will bring a sketch book with me and do some watercolours. Its a spiritual place, and what a view!
