a 1.2 km hike from the car park at the bottom of the mountain. A fairly easy walk up - even for young kids. On a clear day there are fantastic views over Strandhill, Sligo Bay, Rosses Point and as far as Aughris in South Sligo. Great reward for not much effort!

Views are fab....kids loved it. Wear your hiking boots/runners for sure and bring a picnic. Was a bit windy on the day but once you get to the top you forget all about it.

Amazing view! Surprisingly accessible, a relatively easy walk to the top. This is one of my favorite spots in all of Sligo.

You can drive your car to the foot of the climb by following the signs. From there it's a 1.2 km climb to the top of Knocknarea where you get brilliant views in every direction. The huge rock pile of Queen Mauve's is the first thing you see at the top. From there you can walk in all directions of... More

This is an excellent climb and does not take very long 30 minutes max. Make sure you wear the correct footwear. Magnificant views from the top. Well worth a visit.

Somewhat challenging climb in places - not suitable for disabled as some of the track to the summit is made up of large loose stones. Need walking boots or sturdy shoes - wouldn't recommend trainers. Fabulous views from the summit and you can walk round 360 degrees.

For little enough hiking effort, and providing the weather is fine, one is rewarded with panoramic views of Sligo and it's rich multi-featured land/seascape. The countryside relatively close to Sligo town is somewhat blighted by poor planning, but overall the views in all directions, as you follow the paths at the top of this historic hill, are tremendous.

It's a nice trip that children also are able to enjoy! The sheep are running around and you have a nice view over Sligo! But should be done when the sky is clear and not to windy!
