As we had the museum pass we thought we'd try this museum. What a great find! The museum starts on the third floor and with a map, it directs you around the exhibits over a number of levels. Collect the free audio guide on level three and you receive a great commentary along the way. We especially loved the set... More

I was so excited to find that this museum was located right next to the Louvre. I was anticipating the costumes and french fashion that the museum housed. Much to my dismay, the main clothing exhibit was closed. We had the museum pass and went ahead and TRIED to tour this museum anyway. I think the main problem is that... More

This museum was one of my favorites. It contains many beautiful, extraordinary items large and small. Embellished jewelry boxes, porcelain boxes, figurines, and perfumes. Beautiful chairs and period rooms. Paintings, sculpture, mirrors, candelabras. It is a visual feast!

I'm not into baroque, so whizzed through the extensive collections of furniture, etc. and headed for the modern section. What's interesting is that it has an almost exclusively French point of view, one I would not have seen elsewhere. The temporary exhibit space has changing shows, so check what's there. And don't forget the museum's excellent shop!

The exhibit of clothing from the 1700s-1915 was terrific. Additional exhibits from Middle Ages through 1800s was very good. I was looking forward to the exhibits from the 1940s on but didn't realize it was all furniture. Wasn't worth hiking up to the 9th floor except for the view. Might be for some, but didn't seem to fit with the... More

This museum exhibits decoratif arts including ancient costumes; worth a visit but my principal reason was the star wars toyx exhibition. A private collection of Star Wars figures (Kenner) was exhibited alongside some other toys. They were shown movie by movie.

I liked this museum much better than the famous Louvre or Orsay. Whoever arranged artworks did an amazing job, and theres so much to see, including some temporaries shows in fashion gallery and others.Don't miss this one! I almost skipped this one but please don't, this one was one of my favorites galleries in Paris. (+nice cafe & not-so-touristy bookstore... More

This museum is a comfortable size although its layout is a little confusing . If you start at the top (9th floor ) and work downwards you will see furniture from the 50's until 2000 and then by the time you are on the third floor there is a bit of a mixter maxter Middle Ages church altar pieces Rennaissance... I went to that museum for the Star Wars toy exhibition. I discovered much more : a museum with an impressive collection of 20th century furniture. Not too big so you get bored (or tired). Close to the Louvres.
