This museum is excellent. It has lots of graphics so you can easily see how the beach head was established (a toehold for the first day or two) and how the allies pushed on with various initiatives. There were also a number of films, and of course photos. Additionally, there are lots of uniforms of the various troops, vehicles, munitions.... More

Visited this museum for the first time since it's been revamped. Well laid out exhibits about the allied and german commanders and the various operations in normandy. The film has footage not seen in other museum films.

We visited today. There was plenty to see and read and contemplate but I found it a little confusing. Although I know a lot about the events in 1944 but you were continually doubling back and looking carefully for the date of each display. Having said that, it's well worth a visit to reacquaint one self with the fearsome events... More

Visited this museum in off-season and in the morning. This made it possible to go through the museum at our own pace. The lay out of the museum is excellent. A lot of text and pictures to accompany the pieces on display. What I liked especially, was the fact the German part of the war was being displayed too.

Great museum in Bayeux. Much smaller than the museum in Caen, but focuses primarily on the Normandy invasion. Thoughtfully laid out without being overwhelming.

Excellent museum. Small but very, very interesting and reasonably priced. The people who were working there were very helpful and very interested in helping you understand all the displsys. Watch the movie.

This museum covers the D-Day Landings and the struggle to free Normandy and Brittany. Plenty of reading on the exhibits with a 16 minute film in both French and English. Admission fee. Probably the most comprehensive account of WW2 June 6th 1944 and beyond. Wheelchair access. Free parking. Lovely location close to Cemetery

We really enjoyed this Museum and film. Very informative. Note that certainly in April it is closed for two hours at lunchtime.

There are many WWII museums in the area and the Bayeux and Caan museums are larger and a little more detailed. Great for a WWII buff, or someone looking to learn a little more. Not far from the tapestry, and easy to get to. 20 minutes to Omaha Beach.
