I just loved to listen to the audio guide, and feel you're part of the history of the cute song "Sur le pont d' Avignon"

This bridge is the reason why we know Avignon since we were kids and also the reason why we went to this nice city decades later. The bridge is really interesting and an absolut must whenever you're in the Provence.

This interesting bridge built from 1177 through 1185 is enchanting. Take the time to really soak in its beauty and if so inclined....walk out on the ancient structure. Only four of the original twenty two arches remain, most having been destroyed in a great flood in 1669.

The story of the bridge's building, use, repair, partial destruction and now the creation of a high-tech visualization is well told in the audio guide and film and exhibits. It's surprisingly interesting, and being able to walk out to the middle of this section of the Rhone and look back at the city is terrific.

I first learned the song in sixth grade, never expecting to get to go to Avignon and stand on the bridge. It was a thrill! Although you can view the bridge from the riverbank, it is just not the same experience as standing on it. The Rhone and the history explanations only made it more fun. Glad I did this... More

My kids were set on visiting the bridge. The site is reasonable and nicely laid out, but there are better visits across the Rhone, and from the island. The positive is the additional history with explanations of the bridge, and the site and building which is passed over elsewhere. You might skip this and enjoy the view from the tour... More

It is what it is, the famous Pont D'Avignon. 4 Euros to walk on it, so they should be able to afford to finish it soon!

We did the bridge experience as a combined ticket with the Popes Palace. With the benefit of hindsight I would not have done the bridge as I do not feel it presents good value for either time or money. It effective costs 3 Euro if you do a combined ticket but it is more than double that if you do... More

Not much to see really, in terms of view on the bridge. More like, it's a bridge with a interesting history and I've been on it. It's must more magnificent when you're not on it per se. I had crappy weather, maybe with the sun in full view, it would be very different. Don't attempt to go with a baby... More
