Very neat scenery with a wall of mountains as background for the lake. There is a cute island and a water fountain at the eastern shore, not far from the Lovers' Bridge. There are several green areas spanning the space between the old town and the lake .

We were fortunate to enjoy a boat trip out on the lake on a beautiful sunny day - definitely worth doing and great for children - we went out for an hour, but to hop on and off at leisure must be really nice. To just sit and enjoy the view from the waters edge is very pleasant, but there are... More

If you come to Annecy you will want to have the time to take a lake cruise or drive around it or part of it.

We took a round trip and stopped off at Talloires, the "Gastronomical Centre of the Area" where we had a delightful lunch and wine at Le Cottage overlooking the beautiful lake. We then caught the afternoon return trip after strolling through the quaint town.

There is nothing to dislike about Annecy or the lake - a fantastic holiday venue for all the family with sailing, swimming in crystal clear alpine water, cycling around a dedicated cycle track that is over 22 miles long and borders the lake. The hire charges are very reasonable too. Hop-onHop-off small ferry-type boats traverse the lake every hour and... More

Amazing and picturesque. People are friendly and helpful. Scenery is stunning with the mountains and serene lake. The city is planned for cycling, roller-blading, walking....for miles along paths following streams. Air is intoxicatingly pure as is the water. Many delicious restaurants along canals and world-class shopping is available, interesting medieval town to explore at your leisure as the general pace... More

one of the main attractions in Annecy. Enjoy the lake by going on a ferry, speding some time in les jardain d'europe or get a boat and go around. what ever you do, the lake is simply a treat for your eyes.

The boat trip with one stop - we chose Talloires - is great value. Good commentary and wonderful views. Eat at Cafe de la Place in talloires (in centre of village) and enjoy browsing - good tourist office will give you a map for a self guided walk

Perfectly clear water, sailing boats and snow topped mountains. Take a waterproof jacket, it's quite wet and very cold this week but definitely worth braving the weather for the stunning views. We took 6 hours to walk around, stopping many times to take photos. We warmed up with afternoon 'tea time' at L'imperial which is the stunning large white hotel... More

Best way to appreciate the size and beauty of the lake. There are other villages around it, which you can't really appreciate from Annecy, it's better to get closer.
