This is a good trip if you are skiing in chamonix. If the weather is not good or the ski legs are suffering then the unlimited ski pass allows a trip on this little train. It winds it's way up the mountain and at the top it is possible to view the glacier.

We found this trip better than the midi ,lovely journey on the train and to see the glacier cutting its way through the mountains with the skiers coming down it was actually quite an emotional sight.

The Montenvers train is very nice and a rather spectacular engineering marvel when you consider when it was built. Well maintained it takes you to the edge of the glacier.

Prepare yourself for a nice train ride into the Mont Blanc followed by a lift down a valley (Mer de Glace) and take hundreds of stairs down and uphill to reach the Cave.
It was an intersting experience (a small walk inside a cave made on an iced sea), but I was expecting much more!

Trains are very Frequent, Safe reasonably clean and the ride is very scenic make sure you sit on teh left

A lovely trip up in the mountain train. Make sure you're fit for all the steps if you want to see inside the glacier!

This was a great experience for us! We were there primarily to snowboard but one day we needed a rest and decided to do some sightseeing. Glad we did. This little adventure was well worth it!
