it's easy to reach from the lift and the views are great! You can have a nice lunch in the hut, or just bring your sandwiches. If you are up for a harder hike and not scared of height, try going up/down on the east side, away from the lift.

We went at the end of September with our dog. Al books all recommend taking the gondola up part way but unfortunately for us they were all shut for repairs prior to the ski season so we walked from our hotel! It took us about 7 hrs in total to talk from chamonix town and back again. There is a...

Walking to Lac Blanc from the Flegere ski lift was an uplifting experience, and for me the highlight of a week spent in the Chamonix area.
The walk is not easy, yet not too difficult, good footwear is a must, and with the views over the glaciers at the other side of the valley a camera is a necessity.Lac Blanc...

If you are staying a the Mont Blanc area, you should definetly walk up to the lake. It is a good hours of walk but it's worth it. Awesome views of Mont Blanc and the mountain from there. There is a small hut, it was closed when we went so make sure you bring your own water and food. Feed...

This trail is a must! We started it from the Col de Montets and it offered scenery views and was well marked. it is recommended to climb up to the chalet of Lac Blanc to see the little lakes and enjoy the spectacular views of the Mont Blanc
We took the cale car to L'Index then walked to the Lac Blanc then walked back down to La Flegere. Walking up from La Flegere would be uphill all the way and much more tiring. It was fairly busy around the lake, but it's still a really lovely place to stop for a picnic. We saw a few chamois on...

Our last day of 6 hiking around the Mt Blanc massif. You could do this as a separate day walk. A stiff walk up or catch the cable car part way from near the golf course. Friendly ibex are quite tame and come close for photos.
great walk up from Flegere. as the previous review states there is still lots of snow around in June.
our first attempt ended with several very wet hikers huddling round the refuge... did not see lac Blanc due to fog and rain.L'Index was closed due to heavy snow (in June). second attempt ( only 3 days later ) was very...

The title of this review says it all....
You can get there either from cable car La Flegere or Index (one step above La Flegere).
The ideal path is: go to Index, then walk to Lac Blanc, then walk down to La Flegere. It's good after June
The problem is that this path is only good after June because the...
