An indoor and two outdoor pools with temperatures from 30-34°C are the central elements of the bathing area. Water falls, water domes, massage jets, whirlpools and a flow channel make your stay into a water experience. The hot and cold water grottos (38 and 18°C) stimulate the circulation and strengthen the immune system. In the year 2000, this area was expanded with a Roman scented steam bath. Three years later there also came a brine inhalation room, in which guests could also relax outside the tubs. Whoever is looking for even more relaxation can find this in the massage room inside the bathing area. Here you can be spoilt by all the facets of this art.The sauna area of the Caracalla Spa has completely changed over the last 25 years. Roman mosaics and columns and also numerous museum pieces and antiques give the spa its Roman touches and let you experience the bathing culture of the times of Emperor Caracalla. Inside the sauna, guests can choose from seven difference offers – from the Finnish sauna to the unique glass steam bath. Relaxation is possible between every sauna visit. The Blue Space senses room brings together wellbeing and art and provides a completely new feeling of mental regeneration. The absolute quiet and the natural atmosphere of the green relaxation room ensures total relaxation. If these possibilities are not enough for you, since the end of 2003 there is also the sauna outdoor area. In the picturesque garden of the new castle of Baden-Baden, you can experience rustic bathing enjoyment in the log cabin sauna made of pine wood. The wood of the Finnish polar pine has a unique scent and makes the sauna into an unforgettable natural experience. The pristine atmosphere in the “Fire Sauna” and the “Wood Sauna” also ensures this. In 2009 the modern WellnessLounge opened its doors. Inside the building of Caracalla Spa guests will be offered nine wellness and cosmetic treatment rooms named after Roman gods. Specific rooms are provided for all the treatments, which include massages, body packages and beauty programmes. The wellness lounge offers a range of new possibilities and a whole host of new wellness trends including soap massages in a wet room, either alone in a beautiful massage room with overhead lighting or in twos in a twin massage room. The luxury spa consists of a bright room with windows in the ceiling and two high-quality single-piece bathtubs. Couples can also experience wellness together and be looked after in an individual manner. The wellness lounge also has a wellness bar and a wonderful rest area with an outdoor sun terrace. « less

The Caracalla is a small piece of heaven come to earth. Go during the day, preferably not on weekends and avoid Friday nights as the place can get very crowded. Bring your own towels, terry robes, bathing suits, shampoo, soaps, lotions, makeup, brushes and whatever else you would normally use after a bath. Hair dryers are provided. When you pay... More

This is a modern spa with open and private opportunities. My bf and I booked a luxuary bath package that gave us access to the private club. In there you are greeted with included drinks, lounge chairs with excellent views of the outside and indoor pools. Once you start you receive robes (you can bring your own) and you go... More

This is a large, modern, communal facility - more akin to a water park for adults - so if you are picturing you and your honey alone in a hot tub - forget about it. But if you're like us - modest Americans who rarely have an opportunity to visit a spa and are ok with public pools - then... More

I struggle to call this place a spa to be honest, given that I've left the place with icky itchy skin. The smell of chlorine was so over powering I dread to think how much they add. Chlorinated water! You may as well take a bath in your hotel... it'd do as much good (or bad, if like me your... More

One of the nicest thermal spas I've visited with a great sauna area. The baths are nice and there is a lot of variety, but I usually go there for the saunas: there are 8 or 9 of them, 2 outside in a small forest. The fresh juice bar makes the experience even better.

A modern version of what Therme are all about. Superbly planned with various baths (in and outdoor) at all temperatures, steam room, cheap restaurant and up a spiral staircase, an amazing suite of saunas, large and small at various temperatures. It can get busy but is fairly quiet in the morning. Very good value (and hotel discounts). You need at... More

We expected a lot more from the experience Baden Baden. Yes it's a nice environment, but service is horrific and they do not offer the same experience as spa's in the Netherlands or Belgium and Luxembourg. First of all, you have to use swimming wear, while usually a spa means you are naked (granted you can go to their other... More

Actually liked it so much, went back twice. Incredible thermal pools both indoor and outdoor along with steam rooms and tanning beds. Upstairs includes saunas (both indoor and outdoor) plus hot tub but you have to leave your modesty at the front door (clothing not allowed). A very European experience for Americans but you will enjoy it. You skin feels... More

During our recent time in Baden Baden we took the time to visit the baths at Caracalla. We had a great time. As we were not quite ready to take the totally nude experience at the more traditional Roman Irish baths, this was the scene for us. There is a room by the way stashed up a winding staircase where... Only 18 Euros was the price for 2.5 hours of spa time. The multiple pools were great for relaxation and light swimming. Each had unique features such as jets, currents, and fountains. Everything was beautiful and well-maintained. The saunas were hot (97 Celsius) and such a relaxing experience. Parking is nearby in a ramp. Lockers are provided with a waterproof... More
